Bulbophyllum considered to be the largest group of orchids. The plants are tripically small to medium sized creeping epiphytes, having a sympodial growth habit with prominent pseudobulbs, with one or two fleshy leaves. There is a wide range of fantastic flower shapes and sizes (2mm to 400mm). The flowers come in an extensive variety of unique shapes, sizes and colours… all Bulbophyllum have a hinged lip that aids in pollination. The pollinator to fall back in to the sticky Polina. Bulbophyllum are also known for having many species that produce foul, carrion- scented flowers.

Bulbophyllum Graveolens has very fragrant flowers and it has an apical umbel of 8 to 9 flowers which are long lasting and are held below the leaves occurring in the fall. The flowers do not open completely,  the petals and sepals are waxy and bright which makes them very attractive.
